Come Here Floyd - 8/13/2020

“‘Where Am I’ was originally planned to be the first single released on a full-length album of the same name. Unfortunately, due to Covie-19, we had to cancel our remaining studio dates and our entire 88 day summer tour of the US.”

Although the songs on this record were all slatted for different projects, they fit together nicely and there is a theme of trying to figure out who you are and what you are doing here throughout. ‘Where Am I’ in particular is a song about trying to figure out where you fit in and getting caught up in a lot of traps.

Zach Bellas is an American musician, singer-songwriter, producer, and founder of the independent recording label SMB Records.

Since beginning his professional music career in 2008, Bellas has performed over 1,000 shows all across the USA and internationally, including touring in support of great bands such as Clutch, Corrosion of Conformity, and Flogging Molly.

He continues his musical trek with distinct R.E.M. and folk dressed charms of indie and rock.

‘Where Am I’ is on the latest EP ‘This Was Not The Plan’.

Janglepophub - 8/3/2020

“Ex Groundscore man Zach Bellas grinds out Harrison Whitford style hazy atmospheres and imbues them with the most vibrant of jangle rock riffs.”

Velvety - 8/3/2020

“Zach Bellas is an American musician, singer, songwriter, producer, and founder of the independent record label SMB Records, best known for leading the band Groundscore and being the lead guitarist for The Pasadena Band. Currently based in Baltimore, he has just presented with drummer Tom McAteer and bassist Kyle Hadley an EP under the name Zach Bellas; Four new songs that were originally going to be part of an album called Where Am I ?, but which, due to the situation caused by Covid-19, have remained in the aforementioned EP, opportunely titled This Was Not The Plan (2020). An appetizing work with attractive songs like Dearly Departed, a galloping cut endowed with a more than contagious guitar work, 90s essence and stimulating alternative country textures. An interesting trio to keep track of.”

Alt77 - 7/29/2020

“Zach Bellas doesn’t sound ready to endanger anyone in a fistfight. But, as corresponding Allman Brothers Band-like title would suggest, there’s an edge here.

Mr. Bellas plays as if he grew up on southern boogie, and AM radio guitar solos. This is far from the Stevie Ray Vaughan you hear old hacks hammering out at the local watering hole. This is actually good!”

“Zach Bellas' performance was stunning and energetic performance of the band. Bellas has found his own new voice, emerging from his punk and reggae background, to a new rock n'roll sound.”

Top 40 Charts.com - 12/9/2014

Washington, DC (Top40 Charts) Hey Hey My My - Zach Bellas is here to prove that rock 'n' roll can never die with new album 'Let Me Out', available everywhere September 26th.

Anyone making Rock 'n' Roll today must really have a passion for it.
Rock music hasn't topped the charts in years, DJ's and Electronic Dance Music seem to be the choice of this generation, and even Gene Simmons has declared Rock 'n' Roll dead. Sure there's the Foo Fighters, and Tom Petty, Neil Young and Bruce Springsteen are still putting out new albums, but where are the next generation Rock bands? And does anybody still care? Washington DC area Rock Musician Zach Bellas is betting that they do.

His latest effort, 'Let Me Out', is 33 minutes of pure Rock 'n' Roll bliss. Big drums, loud guitars, solid melodies all mesh together seamlessly as Bellas' sincerely sweet vocal styling speaks directly to the masses. Or, more accurately, anyone that will listen.

"Maybe, Rock music shouldn't be topping the charts. Maybe it shouldn't be that popular. Traditionally, most fans resented their favorite bands for 'selling out' when they got too popular. I feel like anyone making Rock n Roll today must truly have a passion for it." - Zach Bellas

'Let Me Out' is the fifth full-length album by Bellas and will be released on September 26th on his own Washington, DC based label. All seven tracks were recorded live in the studio in two days by long time collaborator, producer and engineer Frank Marchand (Nils Lofgren, Bob Mould, Pasadena) at Hudson Street Sound Studios in Annapolis, MD. After coming off a long nationwide tour, Bellas felt like the band had the songs exactly the way they wanted them and that they would sound best performed live in the studio.

"The last album I recorded ['Whatever You Want' (2012)] was really involved. We had strings and flutes and piano with backing vocals. This time, I wanted to see what would happen if you put four guys in a room and just let them play. I couldn't be happier with what came out." - Zach Bellas

The result is a very simple and honest Rock record for today's generation. A solid and straightforward album that begs to be played from start to finish, over and over again. Bellas knows he may never sell a million records or have a number one single, but then again, Bellas doesn't really care.

"As long as we can stay on the road and the people clap at our shows, I'm good." - Zach Bellas

'Let Me Out' will be available everywhere September 26th. Zach Bellas & The Company Band will kick off a short tour at 'The Birthplace of Rock 'n' Roll' - Jack's Twin Bar in Gloucester NJ. Visit https://www.zachbellasmusic.com for more information.
